Just read this on the RoadRunner homepage. I’ll get a link up here soon. This is a merger I wouldn’t have predicted!! (not that anything’s happened–yet)
edit Here’s one link; I’m sure there will be many places to read about this shortly.
I don’t understand the reference to Tweedledum and Tweedledee (note spelling).
A suggested correction and a few additional notes:
This is a merger made in Hell. What are the executives of US Airways thinking?
woud be? … will be/is Hell is a proper noun. Hell conveys a strong image without the need of an exclamation.
“US Airways” is a corporation and obviously incapable of thinking.
Please use proper grammar and don’t end a sentence in a preposition.
I trust you were caught up in the emotion of the moment.
How about “Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber” if this goes through. Their hub system would need to be completely altered, their fleets don’t match up at all, and Delta always seemed to want to stand on its own, whereas US seems to be merging with SOMEBODY every other week or so. This is why I was so floored when I saw this today.
Are their A/C, gates, and ATL only worth $8 billion? I guess those MD88/90s are only worth a couple million. The ATRs would be a liability in the event USA bought DAL. Hey! Where is USAir? I would have guessed he’d have chimed in by now.
Actually, I think they’d operate as two “separate” airlines with the same corporate structure. That’s how I perceived it anyway. Sounds like a lot of overhead expenses though.
