I’ve found Consolas font works for me.
Otherwise you have problems as well?
I guess it doesn’t hurt to make the font configurable.
Maybe i can also find out how to define a priority list of fonts.
I presume when Tahoma is not present and the wrong replacement font is used, this results in problems.
I notice the 250 range circle has gone.
It’s unnecessary for most people.
(I’d argue it’s even unnecessary for the mtg site )
/usr/local/share/tar1090/html/config.js
It stays around now after updates.
Would be pretty sweet if you could add a dynamic terrain limit out line like the heywhatsthat page.
It would give users a general idea of where planes might drop off from terrain rather then reception issues
What do you mean with dynamic?
Anyway you can can just put in your own outline, follow step 8 in this post:
Bake a Pi
File name should be /usr/local/share/tar1090/html/upintheair.json
It will then be loaded automatically.

[/quote]What you’re asking for is the ModeSMixer2 map interface
To advertise what website I am displaying, The top browser tab for tar1090 when
http://192.168.x.yy/tar1090 says blandly
dump1090-fa - ##/##
as compared to the standard distribution tab says nicely "PiAware Skyview - ##/##
Is that an html setting or something on my computer specific setup ?
I changed the name.
But if you if you want you can change it in config.js if i’m not mistaken.
112 // Controls page title, righthand pane when nothing is selected
113 //PageName = "dump1090-fa";
Obviously you need to remove the slashes in front of the relevant line, otherwise it is regarded as a comment.
You can also have the message rate displayed there:
Nice config method - I like it, thanks.
Dynamic, on the heywhatsthat you can change the altitudes and the range ring changes.
Likewise, a toggle for it as well.
You’d have to have a ring for every altitude.
Anyway you can have multiple rings.
You’ll have to decide which ones you want.
I suppose one could interpolate between rings adjusting to an aircrafts altitude when selected.
That does sound nice but i don’t think it’s worth the effort.
Wow, I have forgotten this thread! Thanks for reminding.
It is from the time when Piaware ver 3.5 was current.
A quick brows showed that apart from piaware and other data feeder version numbers, most of stuff still holds good.
Cannot update it as editing of old posts is blocked.
Start a new one, call it “Bake a new, improved Pi”
This has been implemented.
Also you can toggle track labels which show you the speed/altitude a plane had along its track.
I’m not exactly sure about the formatting and placement.
Those two features can be toggled with O and K.
Maybe a stupid question, why is the button for Dim Map carrying a “B”?
Check the tooltip.
It’s for the keyboard shortcuts, asdw is already used to move around the map.
"B"rightness…
OK, it was stupid
