Not sure if this has been posted before, sorry if it has. I did do a search and could not find it.
This is one of our Squawks from about a week and half ago. Great hits can be found on the Squawks page in the blue column on the left hand side. Check it often because new things are added all day long. If you find a great new video, article, website, etc. post it on there for everyone else to see. Remember to vote on them!
Thanks for the heads up on the Squawks
Yeah, I don’t get it at all. I thought that is what the forums are for. Maybe if you explain it in some detail? Like what does the number mean? Doesn’t look like too many people post comments. Maybe it’s me. Please explain in detail. TIA.
Deef,
I am with you on this one myself.
It (to me) duplicates discussions.flightaware.com/viewforum.php?f=8 and not conducive of interactivity.
It is a means of allowing immediate access to hundreds of articles, links, & stories to the thousands of members on FlightAware. It is a means for those who, unlike us, do not like forums. It is in no way made to replace Aviation News, that is where you can discuss articles in more details. It also doesn’t have to do with with news directly. We, the staff, as well as many members, post random things that we find interesting on the web there that we’d like to share. The Squawks also get sent out on our daily, weekly, & monthly newsletter.
The numbers beside the articles represent their squawk count. If you like a link, squawk it, if you don’t, eject it. When you squawk something, that number goes up and is shown as an article that you like. When you eject it, the article is moved to the bottom of the list and keeps the articles you like on the top. The higher the number the more people that also liked that link.
Like I said they are there to give it out to the majority. By all means bring it back to the Discussions Forum and beat it to pieces. We encourage it!
