I have set up a signature in my profile, and “Attach Signature” is checked, but it doesn’t display. What am I doing wrong?

I sent you a PM about avatars. I seem to be having some problems with PMs going out. In case you don’t get it, here’s my reply:
I used Google images to search for it. If I recall correctly, it came from a Pan Am history page.
If you do a Google search, limit your search to small files because the avatar can only be about 80 x 80 pixels or less in size.
Let me know if you need any other help.
We don’t allow signatures in the forum; they end up being giant clutter that makes it harder to read.

What are the signatures for, then?
It is an option in the forum software which has been disabled by FlightAware.
Shucks, I thought it was to finalize payment on my paycheck. 
Oh well, they’re not good for much anyway. I can’t read mine.
