Say Type Aircraft?

I can’t tell but was real surprised to see a plane in this picture.

Extra points if you can name the airport.

Hints:
~California
~I’d be real surprised if anyone on this list has landed here.
~Many have passed on the road.

HHR

Not a bad guess. You do pass HHR on the road a lot. But no.

The airport was under a solid layer so I didn’t see the plane up close and I’m really wondering what it is. This is a private airport and that’s the only building on the airport itself.

Embraer Bandeirante??? Clark Ranch Airport -3CA0 ???

Maybe? The family who owns this airport could afford pretty much anything. The runway is about 5000’ long.

Wow, this nice little paved strip IS NOT shown on the sectional. How can that be?

That’s nuts. How do you not put a paved runway this big on a sectional? That hangar was made to hold a DC-3.

Weed CA- looks like a Westwind. I think I see tip tanks on a high wing AC

Nevermind it’s not Weed- what about PMD?

Give me a hint- how long is it? and is it East of LA?

Northwest of LA.

Looks to be 5000’, since it’s not on a sectional or in AirNav that’s only a guess.

That could be a Westwind…

Here is a picture of most the airport and Grand Pa’s house in the forground. This will help most.

Assuming that plane is running Jet A he must have filed to a airport, that one or something close. This picture was taken 10/3/09 at about 9:30am. Anyone?

Cessna 340

It has that shape and the shape of a Twin Comanche but the hanger was built for a DC-3 and that would be the biggest Cessna 340 I’ve ever seen.

Oh, and I forgot…

A 727! That must have woke up the town. How did he turn around?

I’ve been driving a 340 for the last year so I literally see them in my sleep… or in blurry photos.

That dinky raked rudder and skinny empannage plus what looks like tip tanks says 340 to me. If those blobs on the ramp to the left are SUVs then the scale would be about right.

King Air 90

That was my first thought at well, a 340, that or maybe Twin Commanche, but I agree 340.

I still say Westwind
