Pi location

I wonder if there is any reason to intentionally set the location a couple hundred miles from the actual location. I had a site pop up on the nearby sites list, not a new site but new to my nearby list, so I clicked to check it out, and all of the positions on the graph are between 150-250 miles SSE. Absolutely no positions less than 50 miles, and none in any other direction. I thought maybe they planned on moving it, but the user has another site in a similar fashion, and it has been set like that for months.

Maybe a dumb way to disable MLAT? MLAT will not work if position is not reasonably accurate (something less than a mile, probably more like within a block). I suspect they just fat fingered the location.
