I look at the stats again and was confused as before seeing the top three. Incredible numbers.
Same issue as before?

It makes a mockery of the stats doesn’t it.
@obj or @eric1tran Could you take a look again please?
Yes it does, thought we were done with these “stats” seems I was wrong. But hopefullyy the staff will look into it.

Have you seen this one?
How can someone spot nearly 100,000 ‘other’ aircraft per day?
This looks suss as well
Why do people do this?
I have been struggling to find a solid definition of “other” aircraft as determined by ADS-B tracking.

There is one in this older newsletter.
Thank you. I appreciate your efforts.
So what does this mean? Is that site really seeing 100,000+ different aircraft per day?
No. If you do a google search “How many aircraft in one day” you get the following:
According to the latest estimates, there are **approximately 100,000 flights per day**. This number includes all types of flights, including passenger, cargo, and military aircraft. Passenger flights alone account for over 90,000 flights per day, transporting millions of passengers to destinations all around the world.May 25, 2023
It’s being faked somehow.
Or could it be that the logic, which determines the numbers, is miscalculating because aircraft are inadvertently being counted more than once?
I mean it has to be one or the other, surely. Either erroneous logic counting a normal feed, or good logic and a somehow dodgy feed.
Some people aggregate the data of multiple stations and then send it fo FA. Those are then counted as Other, too. Your are not meant to do this, but some people do nevertheless, for different reasons. This messes up the stats, though.
Funny to see that the first guy outperforms me with just 2 sites where I have 14 reporting
Something is pretty messed up there…
So that’s where all the Pi’s went!
Among other things, still some spares available
Hello Keith,
same old song as some time before. Guess it is time for the staff to take proper actions. They promise to take action, but till now it happens too often.
Keep up the chatter on this one! Like anywhere else, the squeaky wheel gets the oil!
Thanks for the reports. We’ll be reaching out to these users.
Maybe if Flightaware temporarily pulls the “other aircraft” out of the Ranking calculation the gamers will get the message!
In regards to the #1 ranking member with the “other” aircraft numbers in another galaxy, if you pull up his site you will see that it went inactive for a extended number of days and is now reporting “normal” “other” aircraft numbers in the hourly reporting graph. The site will be falling from favor in the ranking scheme when the 30 day statistics start analyzing the real numbers.
Its a mystery, perhaps they just have to be better than anyone at all costs. Never mind the effort other people put into this hobby.
