Anyone heard anything about this? Just heard about it in a telecon with boyfriend in Long Beach. He heard about it from friend in AZ who is an Air Force Pilot. Anyone have any updates?
Something happened, possibly one of the planes is a 172.
I tried finding the flight here, but the area south of the Long Beach harbor is a confused mess and the altitude readings erratic:
The midair apparently involved a 172 with an instructor and student, and a light twin:

Light twin identified as a Cessna 310 in another article, might have only had the pilot on board.
