2 planes crashed in Cincinnati Blue Ash ISZ

there was 2 single engine airplanes mid air collission in cincinnati near blueash (ISZ) at 3pm to 3:30pm

both pilots and 1 other passenger are reported dead :frowning:

Planes Collide In Mid-Air Over Sharonville: Two Dead

Officials have identified one of the aircraft as a Cessna 172N registered to Flying Neutrons Inc. in Milford, and the airport employee said the other was a Beechcraft Bonanza.

Edit: The Cessna is likely to be N6614D. Now 3 confirmed deaths are reported (WCPO)

the news is saying the Cessna 172N had a pilot training a student and
also they are saying the emergency procedure manual was out and opened in the plane

This happened about 1 mile from my office…and I was driving down that road about 5 minutes after the accident. There are quite a few houses, a park, golf course and an interstate highway very close to the scene. I’m not sure if the pilots had any control after the collision, but they managed to miss all houses and all cars on the highway - no casualties on the ground. While terrible, it could have been much worse.

The FAA just showed up on the scene (watching on the news live right now).

My condolences to the families.

They just announced the name of the pilot of the Bonanza involved (as the family has been notified) as Niels Harpsoe.

A quick search found the Bonanza as N1835L. registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry … rtxt=1835L

listening to the news seeing that there is no atc tower and another thing the news pointed out that its highly possible that Cessna 172N was below the
Bonanza and they just didnt see each other. the local news had a pilot that just landed at ISZ about the same time and he didnt hear any chatter on the radio from any planes in that area that rely on each other to notify take offs and landings since there is no control tower

According to the WCPO website, Mr Harpsoe was a “Angel Flyer”. who fly low-income patients transportation to distant medical services.
Gives this story an even sadder twist.

My sympathies go to his friends and family, and I salute all other pilots who “Angel Fly” patients all over.

The Cessna was flown by an instrument student under the hood and a instructor. The student was in his thirties and married with four children. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families.

CTAF audio. Two accident airplane’s aren’t till close to the end.

OMG that is so sad. My condolences to all of the families involved.

I didn’t hear either aircraft until about ten minutes into the tape and not after 11:00. Were those the crash planes talking at 10:55 and 10:58?

Sad!
