The system does not look really stable, is often off-line and after a restart is not receiving any airplanes, I have to restart it a few time in a row to get it working. I guessed that maybe I have some temperature problem because I received quite a lot of Ajax connection error so I modified an acrylic case to accept an 40x40 mm 5V fan but the error messages are still there but are disappearing a lot faster as without active cooling so I assume that the temp is still playing a role here.
Secondary something I still can’t understand (technical description of the 2 systems that are running)
Antenna: 10 db 1090 Mhz antenna (the russian one) with an PGA103+ based LNA stated with about 16 db amp at 1 Ghz power-supplied using an external 12 V power source. Cable about 20 m of RG6.
Flightaware Pro stick with Flightaware 1090 Filter
getting up to 1100 messages/second, max range 425 Km in the last week and 483 Km in the last month (using the statistic from adsb project page adsbreceiver.net/ )
Flightaware Pro Plus stick with an cavity filter for 1090 Mhz with a pass band 1086 - 1094 MHz, it gets max 600 messages/second and similar range as the system 1. No statistic info about range.
To mention: both system are feed over a splitter from the same antenna+amp combo.
Question why is system 2 receiving less messages as system 1?
Using system 1 with the cavity filter I have lower values (messages and range), system 2 with the Flightaware filter I have overload (messages rate in range 20-100/sec).
