Very reasonable and logical requirement. I will honour it.
Successful install of web portal 2.2.0 on Piaware 3.0.4 img
ONLY Performance Graphs are installed by the modified automated script. The modification was done to adapted it for Piaware img.
Data feeders for other sites, if required, should be installed manually as per procedure given on the individual sites.
āDownloaded Piaware 3.0.4 img
http://piaware.flightcdn.com/piaware-sd-card-3.0.4.img.zip
āFormatted microSD card and burned the downloaded & unzipped Piaware 3.0.4 img
ā Inserted microSD in RPi, powered up, SSH
sudo raspi-config
Expanded file system, set time zone, changed password
ā Checked:
data feed to Flightaware working OK.
map at /dump1090-fa/ is working OK
ā Adjusted gain setting, entered wifi ssid & password
sudo nano /boot/piaware-config.txt
ā Tried to install web portal using method given on page 1 of this thread, but script exited when said No to install dump1090-mutability (dump1090-fa is built in Piaware 3.0.4 img, and there will be conflict and malfunction if dump1090-mutability is also installed).
ā Used modified script as per method given on page 51 of this thread (Click Here).
Successfully installed Performance Graphs/Web portal only.(dump1090-fa and piaware data feeder are in-built in Piaware 3.0.4 img).
ā Added Terrain Limit Rings to map
sudo wget -O /usr/share/dump1090-fa/html/upintheair.json āhttp://www.heywhatsthat.com/api/upintheair.json?id=XXXXXXXX&refraction=0.25&alts=3048, 12192ā and then reload the browser (XXXXXXXX is heywhatsthat ID for the receiver site)
ā Data feeders for other sites, if required, will be installed manually as per procedure given on the individual sites.
ā Went to pages /install and then to /admin and completed confing.
While on admin page, in navigation tab, placed check mark besides option dump1090-fa (see screenshot below).

Did an upgrade to flightaware, reinstalled dump1090-mutability and the web portal using the usual:
cd ~/adsb-receiver
git fetch --all
git reset --hard origin/master
./install.sh
Now everything seems to work except my Live Dump1090 map in the web portal. I only get the continuous loading circle. The Dump978 map is OK.
Any ideas anyone?
Had the same issue with the spinning wheel and was using Chrome. IE11 or edge, worked perfectly. Use a incognito window in chrome and it works perfectly. Donāt ask me why, obviously some setting in Chrome standard that needs tweaking. ![]()
@thomsmith. Shut the gate!!! Well just went back into Chrome standard and it now working. Only difference to yesterdays initial install re cloned the image onto a UHS1 sd card last night.

I donāt use Chrome, but itās not loading with Firefox or IE11.
I have seen reports pertaining to the continuous loading circle when viewing the dump1090-mutability map. Here are the results I had testing the dump1090-mutability map both directly and through the portal.
127.0.0.1/dump190/gmap.html
127.0.0.1/dump1090.php
Windows Chrome 53.0.2785.89 m: OK
Windows Firefox 48.0.2: OK
Windows Edge 38.14393.0.0: OK
Raspbian Web 3.8.2 (modified Epiphany): FAILED
Raspbian Firefox ESR 45.3.0: OK
Aside from the default stripped down Epiphany shipped by default with Raspbian Jessie I saw no problems.
If you do run across this issue again try to access the dump1090-mutability map directly using the URL 127.0.0.1/dump1090.php again. If the error occurs using both URL you may wish to bring this issue to the attention of Obj. If it only exists when accessing the map via the portal URL let me know.
Either way if you can supply as much information as possible pertaining to your web browser that would help a lot. Information such as operating system, web browser, and web browser version would be of great help when troubleshooting such issues.
Just upgraded, everything working smoothly⦠thanks Joe!

Rather than wasting time chasing the problem, I just did a complete fresh install on a new Jessie image. Everything appears fine now. Thanks.
Updated the scripts, and encountered this on restart⦠canāt get to portal
Error Encountered Upgrading Your ADS-B Receiver Portal
There was an error encountered when upgrading your portal to v2.2.0.
SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 duplicate column name: aircraft
any thoughts?
Replace ~/adsb-receiver/build/portal/html/install/upgrade.php with the following fixed file and run it again.
raw.githubusercontent.com/jproc ⦠pgrade.php
UPDATE:
I may have spoken too soon about everything being OK after the new install on myPi3. My web portal dump978 map is now blank except for the aircraft, aircraft list and clocks. The strange thing is when I open it on another computer or browser which I havenāt viewed it with yet, it is there but with the old google maps display. I can successfully click and select the OpenStreetMap. If I close it and open it again, it is still there. But if I click on the Dump1090 map, view it and then click back to the dump978 map, the map is blank but I still have the planes, plane list and clocks. Iām never able to get it back up on that computer again even after clearing the cache and restarting the computer. This is on three different computers running windows 10, one with windows 7, using the latest IE Explorer or Firefox, as well as on my iPad all with the same results. Does this have something to do with the use of the new OpenStreetMap settings maybe not properly transferring over to the dump978 map?
Anyone else using the dump978 map with the new version?
At least my dump 1090 map is back to normal, even though the dump978 traffic still doesnāt appear on it. I never did get to the bottom of that earlier problem, but thatās another story. Thatās also the reason for my need of the dump978 map.
Thanks for all the hard work.
EDITED: for better explanation.
Hey Joe, Iām unable to replay past flights using Safari on OSX. Works fine on Chrome, but Safari loads a page with just a map, not centered on the area of interest, and no plane tracks. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Same error after replacing the upgrade.php and rerunning the ip/install
Do i need to re-run the ./install process for the portal?

For info,
I did an in-place upgrade last night from 2.0.3 to 2.2.0 and all seems to have gone ok.
I am however getting the ācontinuous loading circleā when trying to access the map page via my iPhone 6 - IOS 9.3.5 - Safari. I tried to access mypiaddress/dump1090.php again just goes back to the loading circle.
The mypiaddress/dump1090.php pages does work when accessing via a couple of different PCās.
@dhornett
Looking into itā¦
Are you using MySQL or SQLite to store data.
Regarding Mapsā¦
The dump978 maps should be fixed in a bug fix / script cleanup release due out very soon.
In the mean time you can copy the dump1090 html files over top the dump978 ones.
sudo cp -R /usr/share/dump1090-mutability/html/* /var/www/html/
I will look into the mobile browser issue as well for you MikeIsler.
I might either have to add a way to enter a Google Maps API key or do as FlightAware did and switch to OpenStreetMap.

Using SQLlite option for data, but not sure it is working, unable to purge data, or do looksups since upgrade. Any way to re-run setup and reconfigure?
Ahh SQLiteā¦
Sorry made changes to the MySQL portion which wouldnāt have helped you. Give this file a shot and report back any issues.

I will be back on the advanced features after this next release. I will however try and get a fix for the purge function into this one.
Also there was apparently an issue with the 2.2.0 update causing positions to not be logged.

I havenāt had a SQLite install to test on. Has to be the query I am using when upgrading to detect if the column exists. I will be doing SQLite upgrade tests for the next release tonight after which I should have this figured out for you.
