I am getting jumbo 747 and A380 icons for dreamliners, 777s and A350s. In simple words, quad engine aircraft icons for twin engine aircrafts.
The database is quite outdated and it defaults to quad engine if the only fact known is that the aircraft is classified as wake turbulence category “heavy”.
There are some web interfaces which use a different database, for example:
- GitHub - alkissack/Dump1090-OpenLayers3-html: Modifications to the OL3 html files (part of the dump1090-fa branch)
- GitHub - Mictronics/readsb: Readsb is a Mode-S/ADSB/TIS decoder for RTLSDR, BladeRF, Modes-Beast and GNS5894 devices. (not only webinterface)
I think my webinterface now defaults to two engine heavy when only “heavy” is known, it uses the Mictronics database:
-
GitHub - wiedehopf/tar1090: Provides an improved webinterface for use with ADS-B decoders readsb / dump1090-fa
(compared to the other 2 i mentioned it has the added advantage of not changing the existing dump1090-fa interface so you can still use that if you want.)
