Yeah, I don’t see anything either. Seems FlightAware announced something that Apple hasn’t implemented yet.
Available in the Apple Australia App Store - following the instructions in the FlightAware blog.
When I searched for Flightaware after clicking the + button, both widgets showed up as “login” buttons, which threw me. I installed one anyway and got no functionality until I hit the login button on that widget and logged in. I was already logged into the FlightAware App on my phone, so that was a bit counter intuitive.
OK, you need the FlightAware app installed on the iPhone – duh. I thought they were just getting info from the Stats page. Anyway, sorta works now, except both widgets show the same thing – receiver status.
Edit to clarify, the widgets look like this:
If you select either widget, the same page is opened. Also, the “Positions seen today” doesn’t seem to change and doesn’t agree with the Stats page.
I have the app, have had it for a long time and I use widgets for other things. No option for the fa widgets for me. Oh well at least they are broken too
Just found it here in the UK. Go to widget screen, hit +, type flight… and it appears. Not sure how to make it do anything other than ask me to login with any option to actually login! But found it seconds ago so will persevere for now.
Not sure if it’s broken or not. The “Positions seen today” number does change over a period of time. It is supposed to be the positions in the last 24 hours. However, it doesn’t seem to be related to the number on the Stats page.
Ok so for some reason I had to update my iPhone to the absolute latest version then these showed up. No idea how widgets are os version dependent like that but I have them now. Function could be better but it does show the status of all my stations.
