Tracking From Europe

About 2 weeks ago, I was tracking my daughter and son in law’s flight from EDDF (Frankfurt) to DFW (Dallas) (DLH438) and it picked up the flight from Germany and tracked it all the way in. It said something about the information being provided by flightaware europe and transoceanic route.

Now I’m tracking my son coming from EDDF to SEA (DLH49) (yes my son in law and son were at the same base in Germany) and it doesn’t track at all. Looks like its picked up about 100 miles north of the USA border.

I looked at DLH438 and its tracking from Flightaware Europe also today.

Whats the difference ?

Our European coverage is not 100%, so it’s not completely reliable yet. As a result, some regions/areas/flights have better coverage than others.

Our coverage area will become 4x as large in the next few months.

Although it wont help today and I foresee no more European tracking for me, it will be a great service to most of those that use this board.
