Just saw on airliners.net that a NW 747 is coming to SJC on Thursday evening, does anybody have any other info?
Military related…Another will arrive Sunday and turn for MFR Medford, Oregon.

Just noticed a 747 here at SJC, away from the terminals. Port over-wing door is open.
Must have been NWA 9995. Arrived from MFR earlier.
Leaves on the 14th @ 1100-1250 for TCM (Mchord AFB)
I went to see it with many other photographers. It was fantastic to see this jumbo land at SJC
This is the most recent 747 I’ve seen at SJC since the San Jose Ballet was using Fry’s 747 to tour China last summer. I guess I missed the jumbo that landed this past Thursday evening… a shame.
If these are military charters coming from MFR, I’d assume they’re Army troop carriers. Any information on this? Are there more to come?

I just watched a Delta 747 (looks like an SP) land here at SJC. I can only assume it’s a result of the merger with Northwest, but I haven’t seen a Delta 747 in a very long time, and it was quite nice to see one again. 
The bird itself parked in the same place as the previous Northwest 747 from this thread, and the passengers are currently disembarking on stairs. Seems like it could be another troop transport.

The 747 (billed as a 747-400) came from Biggs Air Force Base in far west Texas, near El Paso. It must be a troop transport.
I wonder when it leaves?

It’s scheduled to leave as flightaware.com/live/flight/NWA9996 (no permalink available yet) to MFR.
It’s says Delta on the side of the plane but it is still operated under the Northwest certificate.

But, I guess 9704 (ORD/Dover AFB) is explained the same way? I sure wish flightaware were able to supply info on these special flights.
