New Terminal at Charlotte Douglas International Airport???

i was looking through wikipedia the other day and noticed that it said something about new terminal northwest of the field possiblly to be used as a carribean latin terminal in the near future…can anyone confirm this. Can anyone tell me the aircraft being used on the new Clt-Fll route by Jetblue. thanks :smiley:

Check JetBlue’s web page for aircraft information. The flights between CLT and FLL don’t start until January so look for flights in that month. It appears that flight numbers 1000 and higher are the 190’s while the 1, 2, and 3 digit flight numbers are 320’s.

I’ve searched the Web, including the CLT Web site looking for anything pertaining to a new terminal, but all I could find were historical references about terminals that are presently already built. I think a “CITATION NEEDED” should be added next to the comment about a new terminal in the future.

I also searched FlightAware for flights between CLT and FLL, and all that shows up are USAirways flights. I guess JB hasn’t started flying the route yet (as evidenced by their “Where We Fly” - that service begins in January).

As both cltflyer and myself indicated, the flights between CLT and FLL don’t start until January. That’s why I said go to the JetBlue page. Though not mentioned in my original posting, what you need to do on JetBlue’s site is to start a reservation for the city pair then look at the flight numbers to determine the answer to cltflyer’s question.

Flight 1123 will Depart Charlotte, NC (CLT) at 9:45 AM and Arrive in Ft Lauderdale, FL (FLL) at 11:50 AM
Flight 1124 will Depart Ft Lauderdale, FL (FLL) at 12:25 PM and Arrive in Charlotte, NC (CLT) at 2:25 PM

but flight 1080 from clt fo jfk and flight 1085 from jfk to clt are both operated by 320s

I may be wrong about that. I just looked at some other flights (e.g. HOU/JFK) and the E190’s had flight numbers in the 600’s. They may have changed their numbering system since they first started flying the E190’s.

According to a JetBlue press release regarding the new flights between CLT/RDU/RIC and FLL, the aircraft will be E190’s.

All other JBU flights between CLT and JFK are 190s. The reverse trip as well. Perhaps the regularly scheduled plane required maintenance and all they had available to substitute was a 320. Interesting to note that those particular flight numbers you cited have no prior history…
Maybe a charter flight of some sort?

I think it’s a safe bet that they’ll be 190s. If flights between CLT and their northeast “hub”* JFK are 190s, then I can’t see demand for direct service between CLT and FLL requiring anything larger.

If you are referring to JBU1080/1085 - check again. They have several months’ worth of history.

Calling JFK a hub for JBU doesn’t piss me off. JetBlue DOES have a hub at JFK.

By the way, look at my posting a couple of entries ago. It plainlly states (with a citation) that the equipment they will be using on the FLL/CLT flights will be the 190.

i know it used to be a e190 used on the flight 1080/1085 but i assumed that flight needed a bigger pay load so i assumed thats y they put the 320 on that flight
