If he is in it the movie is gonna be bad. :unamused:

The only good thing AA hAAs done for STL!! Got it into the movies, AAnd I doubt AA hAAd AAny thing to do with it.
Cool to see STL terminal shots in the trailer! Why’d they have to throw in a love story though? At anyrate, for the STL footage alone, I’ll pay my rental fees.

oh and Hockey fans, my son was watching to see if he could figure out what airport it was, and in an office scene he noticed a St Louis Blues jersey hanging on the wall in the back ground, right after a cabin scene on the trailer! … KSTL , and a Blues jersey, this movie may suck, (I do not know yet) but if for nothing else than good ol STL, and YOUR ST LOUIS BLUES , its a thumbs up four stars!

I’m looking forward to this movie. Possibly related to my 100,000+ EQM this year.

Seems they have been pushing themselves for more publicity. They are also features prominently in man episodes of the current Next Iron Chef competition on the Food Network.

I have not seen those, but yeah, I guess it’s usually good advertisement. I can recall several AA aircraft in movies back in the 80s, however embarassingly the only one that comes to mind is Home Alone. Several Takeoff shots, in flight shots, and the scene of them running through the AA concourse at ORD.

I live in St. Louis. There’s actually a lot of that movie shot here beyond the terminal but it is often supposed to be in other places in the movie. This must be how Californians feel all the time. (Hey that’s not in X I drove past that yesterday!)

The thing that I thought was really strange about the movie was that @ DTW he was clearly in the McNamara terminal easily recognizable from the look of it as we walked towards gates and of course the fountain right in the middle that he stood by. The weird AA ad posters they had placed all over in the airports in the movie were now placed in the McNamara terminal (which is NW and DL) which just seemed so wrong.

Some of it is just personal bias I’m sure. I don’t understand why anyone would ever fly AA if they can avoid it and I <3 NW in particular for using DC-9s where others use Embraers.

It may be because LUV seems to be all over the TV lately. Their “Grab your bag, it’s on” campaign seems to be hitting it’s mark.

There’s no “hitting its mark”. They’re just spending a whole lot of money on it.

I agree. Although I think not charging a checked baggage fee seems to be resonating with todays pax.

I stayed in the Palmer House Hilton last week, and was surprised to see that my room key card was an “Up in the Air” advertisement, and also they have a 5-minute in-room-entertainment short feature on the movie, AND there was a placard advertising the movie in my room.

I stayed at the Barclay in Manhattan last week and had a similar experience, although the movie being touted was “Avatar”.
