The 737 has reached the end of improvement possibilities. New design to compete at the lower capacity with Embraer, Bombardier and the Asians. The 737NG is good for another decade, unless Airbus comes up with a quantum leap but I doubt they have the $ to do so.
Hopefully they’ll figure out the composite and engine lessons from the 787 first. The only way they can improve on the design is to lighten it up and hang more efficient engines on there. I think the 737 has the lowest actual csm and most predictable actual costs.
I have to respectfully disagree with two FA veterans demi and will.
Though the Connie is a great lookin aeroplane, the good ol’ DC-3 is the best looking airliner and airplane.
(OK, ok, maybe it’s cause I’m biased cause I fly one, but still… 8) )
Here on FA check out N17334 pics and tell me it’s not the best looking airplane ya ever saw.
Nuts. I knew I shouldn’t post before I wake up. My apology to dami!
(I had an aggie-moment)
Will, I consider anyone who’s made as many posts as you have, a veteran on this site. I see your posts all over the place and I enjoy seeing your comments and alot of the other regular posters.
A return note on subject is the 737-800 does have one REALLY COOL feature that no other airliner (that I know of -somebody correct me if I’m wrong) has… The Heads-Up-Display!!
