Nascar Airplanes

It appears that some guys might be sharing rides or taking team planes this weekend.

Any idea what Mark Martin is flying these days? N6m hasn’t moved in over a year and he has N6M, N3MM and N606MM reserved but nothing looks active.

I believe he is flying [flight]N4M[/flight]. This is the trip home to Arkansas from Phoenix last weekend.

They might be using a call sign- if so you’ll never see that tail number flying

Not a callsign.

Tail # N4M.

Anybody ever been to the heliport at bristol motor speedway? do you know if it is accessible for fans? Il be down there thursday and was thinking about waiting for drivers if its possible.

I used to go to the races there all the time and the helipad was right next to the driver motorcoach paddock near the truck entrance to the track. Plenty of access around the fence at the helipad - always a big crowd after the race as the drivers are leaving. I am not sure how it will be Thursday as the drivers will likely arrive at all different times.

The helipad at the Miami Homestead Speedway is awesome for getting near the drivers. A small fence and they walk from a gate to there golf carts. No restrictions to that area from the public.

New N500R?

I see Denny is making the trip to Cali non stop. He seems to be the only one.

I posted late last year that Jack does not seem to be flying N6JR to the races and again so far this year he is not as well. As busy as he is I find to hard to believe he is flying with the crew to races. Anyone have any insight?

I forget if I posted this already, but last year he came in for the NH race on one of their 727’s.

Greg Biffle will be departing shortly non stop as well.

I would also guess Matt Kenseth, Jr and maybe Juan Pablo Montoya could make it non stop.

Most drivers rides don’t have the ability to make it on one tank of gas. They will stop in Amarillo or some place Wichita to top off.

Yep…which means he is flying with the rest of the crew. He used to fly from the races back to MI and then to Concord every Tuesday. Now he must fly back to concord then back to MI. For a guy like Jack time is money. Just surprised…

You have to remember that after his accident he has vision in only one eye. That may be a factor in fatigue or maybe restrictions that he must adhere to. Also, with such a long flight I am sure the cost of fuel is a factor.

It is my understanding that he has no restrictions on flying and he did take a 3 hour plus flight in his mustang from Daytona back to Mich.
I see your point on a flight to Cali but is not even flying to the east coast. Fuel was never a factor in years past.

Jack may be riding with the Bif or with Matt since they ride off him on Sundays. Of course riding in one of those 727’s is hardly struggling. Fuel savings is probably taking a toll on everyone and there is not nearly as much money floating around as in years past.

MK would be a no on a non stop flight.
Dont know about jr
JP was in Illinois so we dont know if he could have.
