I’m curious about MLAT… it appears as if my device is supposed to be receiving data from an outside source… do I need to open a port or do port forwarding in my router to facilitate this?
I think that MLAT works with not additional settings.
MLAT is enabled by default. For it to work you must set the receiver’s antenna longitude, latitude and height above sea level on your stats page for the feeder. After that it will start communication with other feeder sites nearby.
The software connects to flight aware the server then relays mlat information back to you. No one else connects to your pi.
