Hi,
it’s not the first time that i have an aircraft passing over my house yet it doesn’t show up on my Skyview (piAware).
Any technical reason for this?
i’m running PiAware latest version i suppose (Auto SW update enabled)

Skyview can only see aircraft with an ADS-B transponder, or aircraft with a Mode S transponder via multilateration. Aircraft with Mode A/C or UAT transponders (or no transponder at all…) will not be visible.
Or the signal is to strong and not picked up by the receiver?
understood, i wasn’t aware that there is a considerable amount of aircraft still without ADS-B
Thanks,
Antoine
Thanks for the reply.
In the USA ADS-B will be mandatory 2020 i believe. Or was it 2022? Anyway i guess there maybe will be exceptions for military aircraft still.
ADS-B will only be mandatory where mode C is mandatory today. There are plenty of places that you will be able to fly without it.
Jan 1, 2020, is the deadline, however, numerous airlines have applied for extensions.
