Logging Dump1090 data on the Pi

Hi all,

I currently use a Pi3 with dump1090-fa that broadcasts the data to another laptop running planneplotter. PP then generates log of aircraft that I am interested in.

I’m wondering; is this also possible without PP? So is there software or a script out there that you can configure to log callsign / aircraft type (based on a basestation) / Hex and date & time.

That’s all I really need. I have been looking in this forum and also elsewhere but I can’t seem to find it.

Thanks in advance!

Following threads may not be exactly what you want, but are good read to give you some insight:

Be sure to collect data on both 1080 and 978. A lot of small aircraft use 978. Also be sure and collect TIS-B data if possible to get best coverage of aircraft in your area.
Depending on your area, there may be several aircraft that do not have either ADS-B 1080 or 978.

NL, Netherlands. 978 won’t really apply.

Thanks all!

I will look into the options and see if I can get it working.

I’m now trying the ac_counter stuff mentioned by data logger but up to this point no log visible in the folder… Maybe the specific settings are not correct yet.

Thanks again!

Hi!

I’m working with the ac_counter.php script at the moment. It actually creates a log file but it is not populated with data.

I assume this is related to the json file or something like that. Any ideas?

Should I link to /run/dump1090-fa as the folder in ac_counter.php or to http://127.0.0.1/run/dump1090-fa/

?
