Link to claim is not working

Hi,

I installed PiAware and it seems to communicate well with flightaware but it’s not linked to my account.

The doc say I have to go to this url : https://www.flightaware.com/adsb/piaware/claim but this page is not working.
It try to load https://ip4.flightaware.com/ajax/get-ip.rvt and I got a timeout.
I have this issue since 2 days.
Any idea ?

Check you are on the same network (no VPN)

Alternatively, install piaware-web.

I assume you have ssh access to your system.

This will install a piaware webpage for your local system FA system that you can access through your browser.

Once on the page it will verify if the system is linked to an account. Since you are not linked you can then claim the reciever from there.

The command to install piaware-web:

sudo apt install piaware-web

It will ask you for confirmation and then install the application.

I am have the same problem for the last few days.

It seems to be still not working (at least for me).

Is anyone else having success?

Thanks.

claim it via the piaware-web page, that hasn’t failed me yet.

The link didn’t work for me a couple of days ago.

I claimed my new site manually.

It’s not working for me.

As an experiment, I logged into a Pi (using Connect) that is online and feeding - still wouldn’t display my list of Pi’s and ID’s.
I’ve only been able to load the page once this year.

Thanks, that worked, but somewhat convoluted and slow on a pi zero 2w (not enough memory to run a browser).

My own fault for using the zero but i had it and thought i could put it to use. Sadly, i was mistaken and it can go back in the draw.

It seems that we may be a burden to flight aware and they don’t want us any more.

If you have another faster computer on the same local network as the pi feeder you are trying to claim, you can use a browser on that to do the manual claim.

I had the Pi Zero 2W just sitting around doing nothing and was going to put a new station up.

As i said the zero 2w is just too slow as well as not having enough memory and it is now back in the drawer.

If i decide i really want to put the new station in place I’ll buy a 4 or 5 and do it without tearing my hair out.

Thanks for everyone’s help.
