Both Winnipeg and Edmonton Centers had this aircraft on radar, thus making the flight look wacky.
Additionally. At least part of this flight occurs outside of FlightAware’s service area. Information on this page may be unreliable.
We first spotted it when its position was listed as 43.27N, 73.30W descending, well into FlightAware’s area in VT/NY. Have this “bad” habit of when we see a high contrail overhead coming from the NE, we check it out on FlightAware, and that’s when we first noticed it (on the computer, not in the sky!).
Once I saw the return vector I really didn’t think it was diverting like that, but for a few minutes it looked like they might be headed for Newark!
Look at the track log, Montreal Center sent us a weird one:
09:05 62.00 -50.00 227 Southwest 482 555 0.84 32,000 -120 level Transoceanic Report
09:29 43.27 -73.30 18 North 420 483 0.73 24,400 descending Montreal Center
