Intermittent Feed Dropout

I’m using a FlightAware receiver with a pi 4 and external antenna on roof.
My feed might work for a few hours, or a few days, but eventually stops working for a variable length of time. I bought another pi 4, made a working card from scratch, substituted a pi 5 27 watt PS, put heat sinks and a dedicated fan on the dongle, and made a cron job to reboot at midnight every night. No joy. It’s not the pi shutting down…I can still use terminal while the feed is not working. For awhile I would reboot every time I lost the feed (to both FA and adsb exchange) but now I don’t reboot and eventually it starts working again. The pi is on a 1 GB wired Ethernet network with some other pi’s, Mac’s, and PCs, none of which have network problems…(my Hamclock pi has been up about a year or so).

Any suggestions? Or is this just the way it is?

Steve

Then check the logs? sudo journalctl / sudo dmesg

“can still use the terminal”
are you saying it’s losing network?

No, it’s not losing network and the pi otherwise seems happy.

You got graphs1090 installed?

Is there still aircraft data received when this happens?

Anyhow look at the log for piaware.
