IFR outbound, VFR return, single hybrid track

I flew IFR from N07 to KLNS this morning, then returned VFR with flight following.

The meta data describes the flight from N07 to KLNS (origin, dest, route, times), however the graphical track and track log actually depict the VFR return flight a few hours later.

Is this normal? I’ve seen this happening on a few of my return flights, too.

I assume there has been a code change in attempt to improve VFR flight tracking, and perhaps this is a ripple effect?
