Graphs for dump1090 -- my version with install script

Yeah my graphs are not compatible with the adsb-receiver graphs.
Or rather either one is active or the other is active.

Very useful, thank you.
You can see where I decreased my gain from 14 to 13 yesterday.
signal-level

Heres mine started few hours ago adjusted gain from 17 to18 where it normally sits for past months but now i can see the results
Screenshot_404
i have got happy medium with best aircraft count and messages balance

Yeah at least for that it’s useful

No need to write down when you changed the gain for comparison of graphs.

If you update again could you show if and how the graph changes?
I would expect the mean signal to increase a bit.

Oh wow, what an abomination of a sentence -.-

I updated just before I posted last night so it would have been roughly where the red line is.
updated

Not sure which purple lines you mean.

the noise levels referred to in the legend at the bottom. I have not yet updated the graphs.

Airspy does not provide noise levels.

The signal graph for airspy as i wrote above is just based on the RSSI values for all planes.
Biggest RSSI value becomes peak, smallest RSSI value becomes weakest signal.

Average of all planes becomes mean signal.

For rtl-sdr the mean signal is averaged over all messages not over all planes.
So the results can be quite different.

But when you change gain, changes are visible in this graph, for that alone it’s useful.

Have I missed an update or is it still not plotted?
Noise

For me, with a slight bug in the ability to see colours correctly, it’s quite hard to see the blue-ish(?) line on the green background. It kind of blends in with the green… :upside_down_face:

Seems it’s not drawing correctly for you.
It shouldn’t be that washed out.

Should look like this:
image

Anyway do this:

sudo sed -i -e 's/0099FF/000000/' /usr/share/graphs1090/graphs1090.sh

Write the command down you’ll need it again after you update
The command changes the line to black.

Just to clarify, noise is not plotted, the RSSI of the weakest plane being received is ploted.

Probably my laptop that has some problems with colours.
Anyway, it now looks much better!
Thanks for the fix for us with bugs in the visual databus

I think making a different color scheme is next on the agenda.
But configurable colors most likely, so people who want to keep the old scheme can keep it.

Having options is always nice, but we are happy with what we get since we don’t have to do the work ;).
Thanks for the work you do

After restart also the same.

Please show any errors for these commands:

sudo apt purge -y collectd-core rrdtool python libpython2.7
sudo apt install -y collectd-core rrdtool lighttpd unzip python
sudo apt install -y libpython2.7

The install script will hopefully work after that.
Maybe not though, we will see.

Ah and please show the output of this:

cat /etc/os-release

If you are still on jessie i’d strongly recommend just making a new sd-card with buster.

Previosuly installed the graph on PiAware 3.7.1 SD.

Anyway, I already re-flash the uSD card to Raspbian Buster. All installations works, including the How-to Read / Set Gain from SkyView and Gmap - #104 by abcd567.

*Just change this (If using Raspbian Buster): - sudo apt install php7.3-cgi

Thanks for the reply. You are great for this graph, bigger look.

Best regards.

You can make the pictures even larger if you want.
It’s configured in the file /etc/default/graphs1090
