Flyboys letter to Delta (punks)

Try writing a nice letter to the CEO. I bet you’ll get something.

I wouldn’t bet on it. As I read in an interview with an airline CEO in the past, they honestly don’t care. For every passenger that says they will never fly on xxxx airline again, there is at least one passsenger at their competitor saying the same thing. It all works out in the end.

Dear (Insert Airline Here), I was treated so badly by your employees. It all started at the airport where the agent couldn’t find my record. How am I suppose to know what flight I’m on, that’s your job. Then I had to pay $20 for my bags (even though when I had free bags, my ticket was more expensive). Then my flight from/to (select one) JFK (JFK is an example, feel free to use any overcrowded airport) was delayed because of ATC which is probably some codeword for Airline Troubles Concealed or Airline Travel’s Cruddy. Then on my flight, I didn’t even get a free five course meal (insert anything that first class gets, you could bring up bags again but not suggested) even though I paid $150/$300/$500 (select $150 for >1000 miles, $300 for transcon, $500 for intl) for my ticket. All I got was some crummy cookie (which is really good by the way). The FA was snotty at me because I failed to retract my chair/my seatbelt was unbuckled/my carryon was in the aisle (select one) and the ride was too bumpy. Then I missed my connection because I only had 30 minutes scheduled connection time. The agent told me there were no more seats to OAJ (insert any obscure city that is super small and lucky to be served in the first place). How can you have no more flights after 8:30 PM. At least make the plane and the 50 other people on it wait for me. When I finally got to my destination after you put me on (Another airline), my bags were not on the carousel, the luggage agent had to take me to the baggage service office to get my bag. I had a very bad experience and I will never fly your pathetic airline again or until the ticket price is the lowest. Next time, I’ll take my business to (airline with exact same policies).

 The sad part is that this must happen all of the time. My personal favorite is the pax that seem to think that yelling at the agents at service desks will solve their problems. I sure feel bad for the agents, but it is sometimes quite a sight!

As for all of the complaints about PHL being overcrowded, it serves US right for pulling out of PIT. And as much as I love CLT, it is even becoming increasingly crowded. I can’t even get a rocking chair when I’m in there these days!

+1

p.s.- American is the only one worse than Delta for domestic.

I do not think a letter is needed, imho…this thread and your anger…has told me do not fly Delta, others may spread the word…and the word of mouth will cost them a few $.

As for the lost dog…MY BET, dog was loaded with drugs…and intercepted :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: Stranger things have happened. Dog blog…wtf…

More than a few times during layovers at SEATAC I’ve been killing time while waiting at the Horizon gates (C2). I’ll be wandering around when the girl at the desk announces the flight to Fresno is delayed or cancelled due to fog. I always sit down right there and watch the fireworks. :smiling_imp:

Fireworks? I picture people celebrating because they don’t have to go to Fresno.

John in Saudi

You’d think! For some reason the people were so determined to get there that they were willing to risk crashing in zero visibility. That’s one town with a higher crime rate than my current locale.

The original poster has my sympathies, even though this is pretty standard policy with most airlines. However, I live in the American South: if I stop flying Delta, I don’t know how I am supposed to get anywhere . . . unless someone will kindly buy me my own G-650.

Southwest will get you to all of its other airports with nonstop or direct flights to all of its other cities that it flies to except West Palm Beach.

If you fly to the eastern USA then most places are located within a 2 hour drive of a Southwest airport.

You’re totally correct. When I fly out of GNV though, Delta is the main choice. Things however even at that rather small regional airport are looking better recently. MCO of course is really no issue to fly out of, neither is TPA. I said what I did mainly about Delta though in jest as people in the South still joke that even to get to heaven when you die, you have to go through Atlanta on Delta.

Guess they are still saying that, eh? Seems the South is dominated by ATL. Even when Eastern was flying you still had to go to ATL to get anywhere.

Thankfully, Charlotte-Douglas (CLT) now is nearly as important a hub as ATL. And a lot nicer of an airport.

What’s amazing is that even though all flights went through ATL back in the 1960’s and earlier, that didn’t mean all flights were nonstop. Delta had many flights that would make 2, 3, or more stops between DAL (yes, DAL; DFW wasn’t made yet) or HOU or MEM or ORD or (name of major airport) ant ATL.

How has this thread made it to 3 pages?

I was ranting. Over it…

you really gotta love southwest…great airline…its a shame though, for me to get on one of their flights it’s a road trip.

Thats what you get for flying Delta.

DELTA=Delays Everytime, Late Takeoff & Arrivals

My flight yesterday was oversold by 15 seats. Since it was before a holiday everyone wanted to get home and only two people gave up their seats for a seat on the next flight and the first class seat and $400. Our Flight was delayed two hours so by the time they got around to telling the 13 people they they were going to spend the night and no seat were available until the next afternoon, no other options were to be had even to other airports two-three hours away. So if you are going to charge me to change my flight then friggin have a seat for me. If you are going to oversell then don’t charge me to change! Seems like they want it both ways?
