End PiAware before halt command?

When shutting down my RPi, is there a way to gracefully end PiAware before issuing the sudo halt command? Or does the sudo halt command inherently handle that?

You could issue the command sudo shutdown instead of halt.
This will gracefully stop all processes prior to shutting down.
