I saw the announcement on your Facebook page about the new E-METAR service. Sounds like a great idea, but I have tried it twice and doesn’t seem to work yet. Once I sent an email with KMCW KMKT in the subject line, then I tried one with KMCW in the subject line. Both replied back with WX KUTF (Unrecognized airport).
It’s definitely something weird that your email client is sending. I pulled the mails you sent and this is what I’m seeing:
To: <firstname.lastname@example.org> From: =?utf-8?B?ZHNpbXNAbmV0Y29ueC5uZXQ=?= your-email-address Subject: =?utf-8?B?S21jdyBrbWt0?= Date: Mon, 31 Oct 2011 16:17:35 -0500
That “From:” line is being MIME encoded or something in a way that the eMETAR code can’t comprehend. I’ll look into it, thanks for the report.
Give it a try now, should be fixed.
