I’d like to get a text message for all IFR departures or arrivals at my home airport N40. How can I set up such an alert?
Thanks,
Craig Johnston

Yes.
Our current alerts system doesn’t support airport-based alerts. The next generation will, but we don’t have a launch date for it yet.

But David, didn’t Mark tell you that the counter doesn’t go over 4,999, so you have to go back to 1 and start over.

I’ll take my chances, I will.

He is a distinguished member of the over 5000 now…I’m sure now dami you’ll be getting asked “Why is your count neg.?”
And each additional post subtracts from the value, that would be too funny, eventually down to “new member status”
Oh my, guess that will take a few years? Few days?

Yep, apparently he gets to start all over.

Years ago, some guy was sitting in his garage writing software for the web that would allow people to post messages back and forth, like a bulletin board. He was trying to figure out how many bits to allocate for the variable that counts how many messages you’ve posted. He thought, “Nobody will ever reach 5000. Imagine if they did – wow, they really should get a life instead.”
I saw damiross with a 5001 count on one post, so that means it goes above 5000 a little before it wraps around to negative numbers. It’s definitely a bug in the BBS software used by FA. In principle, someone could fix it. Wow, they really should get a life instead.
I also noticed at the discussions login page, it says that FA members have posted 70625 articles. Assuming that number hasn’t been corrupted in a similar way, that means damiross has posted almost 1/14 of all messages on FA!

Trust me on this, it’s not a bug within the BBS software
