Amelia Earhart AT&T commercial

This commercial appears to be endorsed by CMG, the management company for Amelia Earhart’s estate. They bill themselves as “the premier company for representing the families and estates of deceased celebrities.” CLASSY!!! :unamused:

I think this add is disgusting, desperate and disrespectful toward Amelia Earhardt memory.

“We are sorry, this video is no longer available.”
I guess I’ll just say I’m glad I missed it after reading those comments.

It’s capitalizing on someone’s reputation, to make a buck for themselves. People tend to frown upon coat-tail hanger-ons.

I thought it was in poor taste when I saw it the first time, but frankly I’ve seen far worse.

Sadly, I think a lot of people may not make the connection between the name on the plane and the person.

It’s not even close to the tasteless and contrived exhibitions that Amelia’s own showman husband dreamed up for her in an effort to earn some much needed bucks.

Much ado about nothing IMHO. If the estate doesn’t have a problem with the ad, why should we?

That’s exactly what I was thinking. How many americans actually know who Amelia Earhart was.
