why are altitudes shown in meters now?
I would like to know this as well and how do you change it back to Queens English?

A developer misunderstood aviation in the metric world; altitudes will be back to feet for metric locales that use feet for aviation altitudes on Monday evening (Central US time). Russia/China/etc will remain meters for altitude, per local usage.
