When I go to the larger map display the route doesn’t come up with it. I get the larger display map but the flight and routing is lost. I am sure it is a setting that I need to adjust. I am using IE8 and have not had trouble in past. Any help would be appreciated.
I’m having the same problem
I posted about it a couple days ago
Can’t figure it out, and like you, I’ve had no trouble with this in the past.
I have been having this problem as well. I first noticed it some time during the month of September. I have also noticed that when you have the new window open and click on the “+” button, the only overlay that can be selected is “weather”. I wish Flight Aware would fix this since I always like to track an ongoing flight with a Full Screen Window on a dedicated display.
I’ve had the same problem for a couple of months now. Doesn’t anyone at Flightaware monitor the discussion forum? Are we supposed to send them an email with the problem?
We’re unable to reproduce the issue - I see the route lines on bigmaps. What browser are you using when you’re having issues? Please post the first line from flightaware.com/fix
I’m running IE8, Win7 prof. I’ve tried both the 32 & 64 bit IE8 with the same result.
both times when I’ve tried to paste in the first line from the fix page, it gives me a posting error. I’m going to type in some of it and see if it works:
My browser is Mozilla/4.0
then it says (compatible;MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64;
Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729;
.NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; HPNTDF; .NET4.0C)
The problem only occurs when I select the “big map” button while tracking a single aircraft. The route lines and aircraft are displayed fine when “big map” is selected while monitoring an airport’s traffic.
My first line of “flightaware.com/fix” is:
Your browser is Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.1)
So is anyone from Flightaware every going to have an answer for this?
Or are we just screwed out of luck?
The mapping team is looking into it.
A temporary workaround is to use another browser; the bug only affects IE.
The other thing I have noticed is that when an aircraft makes multiple flights in one day the little blue line is sometimes from the last flight not the current one.
