I would like to see if you could do a waypoint overlay on the flight display. IE. display the filed route with waypoints to be crossed (In a diffrent color) and then the accual route flown.
It would also be nice to be able to zoom into a particular airport and see the arrival and departures and the aircraft that are currently one them.
It would give a nice heads up to pilots to see which arrivals and departures are in use at a particular time.
That is also a neat idea. Maybe just show key fixes that are part of a STAR, SID or IAP.
Hi, I lead the mapping team, and FYI we’ve got the lat/long of all the navaids and intersections, etc, and getting the filed route into the flight displays is a major priority for us.
We’ve got a lot of great tech that will be coming in 2006 – a lot of the underlying work has already been completed, and in many cases all that remains is to work out the interface, which is actually kind of tricky, as we’re charged with adding these capabilities yet keeping the interface clean and intuitive.
