Vail Daily photos and story.

Accident occured at Eagle County Regional Airport CO, around 1130 Nov 17/09. 5 persons on board, no injuries

Aircraft is based out of Corpus Christie TX.

The airport is open but its sole runway is closed. At least one commercial flight had been delayed as a result of the incident

I hope their skis weren’t damaged.

That would interfere with their “high-altitude training operations”! :unamused:

I’d imagine they were at Eagle County to participate in some cross-service training…with the Navy!

All the Navy training used to take place at the private club they called Naval Air Station Bermuda!

Ah, the regular weekend arrivals of the Navy Brass and politicos from DC, with their “aides” in tow, meant a fresh infusion of cash as they headed off to various beaches and golf courses in Island taxis. Collectively, the three US Navy facilities on Bermuda were referred to as the “Club Med of the Navy” in the Puzzle Palace in DC.

Good times.

About ten years ago, a group of ten reservists from McChord would load a 15pax Air Force van into their C-141. They’d follow the Seattle Supersonics to their road games, usually parking next to the team charter. It was estimated that each ‘training’ flight cost $40-50,000.

What are you talking about? Seattle doesn’t have a Basketball team. 8)
