I have noticed the projected and actual tracks of transpacific flights (eg SYD or MEL to LAX & back) are “zapping” round the world at points along the way - generally out in mid-Pacific.
The problem appeared recently (maybe a week or so) and since it is consistent and ongoing it suggests a bug in displaying / mapping the location … maybe a recent software update??
Can you link to an example?
Looks like it’s a problem with tracks that cross the 180 degree longitude meridian.
Hey, thanks for pointing out this issue. We did in fact release some major changes to maps last week, and this was one of the bugs that didn’t present until the new stuff went into production. We released a fix for this issue this Wednesday, so you shouldn’t be seeing this any more.
Thanks again!
