Just trying to understand a little of what goes on under the bonnet (hood for US friends) of my R-Pi running PiAware.
Using htop I can see there are two instances of dump1090-fa running, two different PIDs and command line arguments look identical. Why would there be two instances of this running?

Dump1090 can run either connected to a receiver dongle (default) OR in net-only mode where network data can be processed and forwarded.
If you have two instances running then probably one is doing nothing and the other is in net-only mode.
OR
You have 2 receivers and each instance will controlling one of the receiver dongles.
