Trying to Track Down ICAO AE2031

Last night there was a chopper flying around the area. I live a in remote area so this is highly unusual. Dump1090 showed a Mode-S data only with an ICAO of AE2031. Most of the time, I’ve been able to look up the ICAO code on airframes.org and get at least something back. This time, airframes.org returned nothing. Are there other resources to track down more information about aircraft?

That’s in the US allocation but outside the N-number range so it’ll be military.

That was going to be my guess. If you don’t mind a n00b question, you knew it was outside the N range because of the lack of result on airframes.org? or from some other source?
