Swapping issues going from the R820T to a R820T2 dongle..

I’m trying a R820T2 dongle out in my test machine, but dump1090-mutability won’t connect to it. The log contains the following:

Are there other changes required to make it work? I was under the impression that it was swappable for the 820t model.

I have a R820T2 and it works out of the box.

Status 1 is “transfer failed” if I’m looking at the right bit of libusb, which isn’t very helpful.
Check that rtl_test works OK, check for any USB problems in dmesg. Maybe you just have a dud.

RTL_TEST fails to talk to it as well. Nothing odd in dmesg though, all the normal usb stuff. LSUSB lists the device. Must be a dud as it was just out of the box and never worked. I’ll return it, thank you.

It reacts the same in my RPi and BPi boxes.

Interesting. I guess they all have S/N 1. My T2 is the same.

For me, rtl_test reports “[R82XX] PLL not locked!”, but that’s considered normal, correct?
