Your programming team should consider using a Google Spreadsheet for the statistics. Link your database fields to the spreadsheet columns.
Set up the columns for user enabled sort/sub sort and filter.
Embed the spreadsheet in your statistics web page.
The user can then filter and sort the data with finer detail. Example: positions by country by name filtered to USA only.
