Looking for tips on how to figure out the right amount of gain. I have the pro stick plus, I live near a small airport in a small town. Not much in the way of interference as far as I can tell, or is there a way to tell?

How high is your antenna? Do you have a clear view of the horizon?
The most likely interference is from TV, FM radio, and cellphone towers. Cell towers are all over the place. An app like LTE Discovery can help find how close cell towers are.
