Redesigned ADS-B Statistics pages

The YouTube video states this number is the highest you’ve ever achieved whereas the label states it is the highest ranking in the last 30 days. If either is to be believed then in my case the former is correct. Many new sites have come online since I reached a position that high.

Thanks for the feedback. With any big change like this, some bugs have slipped through. We’ll be making some additional tweaks and fixes soon.

Oups ! Remove the image when noted :laughing:

Summary:

  • Use better contrast on text.
  • Reduce padding.
  • Increase font size.
  • For the “Positions Reported by Distance from Receiver” graph, I prefer the color-coded heat map over the monochrome blue-ish.

The following CSS changes are not perfect, but get me closer to what I prefer:

51d6214af-flightaware.css:
   body a:link,.linkBlue
   {
      color:#0000FF
   }
   body a:visited
   {
      color:#8000ff
   }
   table
   {
      border-collapse:collapse;
      font-family:"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
      font-size:14px;border:0;padding:0
   }
user_stats.css:
   .smallrow1
   {
      color:#000000
   }
   .smallrow2

      background-color:#FDF2E6 !important;
      color:#000000
   }
   .contentBox

      padding:0;
      font-family:"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;

      line-height:17px;
      color:#000000
   }

      {
         width:7.5%;
         box-sizing:border-box;
         flex-grow:1;
         padding: 0 0.3em;
         overflow:hidden;

      border-bottom:solid 1px #DDDDDD
   }
datatables.min.css:
   table.dataTable thead th,table.dataTable thead td

The Control Panel I see after clicking the “gear” icon on the Site bar in Firefox, Chrome, Edge or Safari (on a Mac and iPad) does not have the Device Commands section. I find it difficult to believe that all of those browsers/platforms have a problem with the new page. Is there perhaps a setting in my Pi installation that is suppressing that section of the panel?

FWIW, I do have auto-update explicitly disabled in my configuration

Some of the changes are a little confusing to me but I think some of it stems from some things being UTC and some on local time. I am sure the kinks will get worked out.

classic example of PowerPoint syndrome - over interpreting data.

Only significant improvement is the extended history.

So far I’m liking the new design. Not sure if it’s related or just a coincidence but even though the log shows my site sending is data to FA (and aircraft showing up on the map) my stats page is saying nothing received in almost 10 hours.

+1

Of course since I posted about stats not updating things started working fine 30 minutes later. After looking at the redesigned page I have comments suggestions.

  1. Put the last seen/last ckeck-in in the same place preferably under site information.

  2. What happened to current uptime streak? It shows the longest (but not the date range like before) but not your current streak and when it started,

Well I gotta go against the grain here and say the new configuration looks fine on the MacBook PRo, in both Safari and Chrome. All my stats and setup are fine with one exception, it says I was last seen online 2 hours ago… not exactly sure what this means. My stats continue to rise…

Ugh, :unamused: MacBook, says it all really…

Sorry, jokes :smiley:

But the new layout and design does have a bit of an “Apple I-something” feel to it.

Well, it certainly is different. Not sure if I agree more with the Powerpoint syndrome or Fischer Price comment.
Will take some getting used to, sort of like the poorly healed leg fracture and your gait. :wink:
Position report monochromatic nuances are a bit tough for these aging eyes to interpret - polychrome past implementation a more robust information environment.

Noted one data conversion issue. My sites that located the antenna above the ground, now show that elevation above msl. Those did not take into affect 788 elevation of house foundation. Site listing as antenna above msl transferred correctly.

Another item I haven’t found is the net uptime streak of all sites. Longest individual site 632 days, longest merged time last week was around 940. Is that stat also gone with the wind that swept through Georgia?

I guess this means the last time of the user (you) being online (logged in). The info for the feeder is in the site information box.

As Deudi correctly says, it is the time YOU were logged into your ADSB Stats page.

Fair enough, but I had been on the page just moments before. I am guessing I have to log out and log back in for that to reset.

Ha, that’s why I threw in there that I checked it with chrome too! :slight_smile:

I’ve had this MacBook for over 5 years now… All I’ve done to it is added an SSD! Still running strong.

Actually I checked the site at work (where I am now) yesterday on IE and Chrome on Windows 10, and I didn’t notice any anomoly. I would check it now to be sure, but nothing at all shows up when I try to look. I’m guessing the web interface is offline right now?

Mmmh, removing sites from the account does not seem to work?!

I clicked on on the link in the new settings window,then a new windows opens with a “Remove” button, clicking on it changed it to “Loading”, then nothing happens… . I tried this with Chrome and Edge.

I know there is another bug being discussed about statistics being stuck on May 3 (for those with a negative UTC value offset), but the auto-refresh of data (aircraft/reports seen) on Firefox browsers seems not to be working.

Had no problems with data auto-refreshing before the new rollout.

Oh, and put me in the camp of those who are not thrilled with the new design.
