It could be any number of reasons from maintenance to “just don’t want to”.
As I’m not certain to the fate of Red Bird II, I can answer your question as to why it has not been flying. The Red Wings (Olympia Aviation) have purchased a “new” aircraft, the Red Bird III, prior to the start of this season. N812ME, an MD-81 that used to fly with Midwest. Start tracking that one and you will see their whereabouts. I still have not had the planets align properly to get down to DTW to see the aircraft in person yet.
