A very easy, one step solution:
Based on posts of Randstad and jaxxtheone, I worked out a very easy solution which is given below.
Just now tested, works like a charm 
sudo wget -O /etc/udev/rules.d/rtl-sdr.rules "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/osmocom/rtl-sdr/master/rtl-sdr.rules"
sudo reboot
