Forgive me if this has been answered in a different way but is it possible to see Blocked aircraft flying, even if their tails are just listed as blocked? I ask this because at work we use Flight Explorer and it shows blocked traffic but still reveals its flightplan and aircraft type and position. Thanks!
The short answer is we have chosen to respect the owners blocking request by revealing nothing about their flights.
Please read this thread (espically Daniel’s (dbaker) and David’s (nugget) responses) for more information and commentary on FlightAware’s stance on blocked tail numbers.
Also I should note that the FAA has changed their policy and no longer allows the release of the aircraft type effective sometime next month.
