What does it mean if the plane icon in the live flight tracker keeps rapidly changing direction?
Aircraft is turning? What’s the flight identification?
Not always the case sometimes them fly backwards.
COA 44 is identification - flight path is constant but icon changes direction like forwards, backwards, etc.
Looks like the system is sorting out multiple out of sequence/duplicate radar position reports.
I’ve seen that happen, especially with TransAtlantic arrivals coming southward over Lake Erie towards CVG, ATL, or IAH. Could it have something to do with the fact that they’re just crossing into the FAA’s radar domain?
