Will upgrade from 6.0. Can I use my 6.0 piware-config.txt on 8.2?
I’ve just done pretty much that moving from 4.0 to 8.2. I actually manually copied across the settings into the new piaware-config.txt, but I didn’t see anything in the old one that would mess up the new one. Therefore I assume that 6.0 would be the same situation.
There are some extra features available in the new one if desired (Adaptive Gain, etc) – see the current Advanced Settings and the end of the PiAwareSetupGuide.pdf document (contained in the piaware zip file) which references some bluetooth connectivity options you can disable/enable.
If you are reconnecting to an existing site, make sure you add your feeder-id into the new piaware-config.txt as this may not have been explicitly present in your old file. You can get your feeder ID from your FlightAware stats page.
