Picking up air communications

I own a Grundig shortwave radio. How can I pick up pilots and control tower communications? How can I know which airport I am picking up?

If you get the diagrams for local airports in your area, you will find the local frequencies for CTAF or Towers. Whatever frequency matches your radio will tell you what airport/center you are listening to.

…and make sure that the Grundig shortwave radio also has the airbands on it @108-136mhz preferably with a frequency readout rather than a tuning knob and dial which dont tend to be that accurate.
