PiAware Skyview page works but not displaying any aircraft?

Hi All,

I use a Pi Zero with offical orange Flightaware stick which is just on 24/7 running (I thought) quite happily.
After our electricity tripped out yesterday I’ve restarted the Pi and everything is green on my Site Information page on the website but browsing to Skyview shows the map etc but no info.
No amount of restarting / upgrading via the website seems to fix it.
I’ve tried a CTRL-F5 after reading a few threads here but still nothing.
The Log shows messages being sent to Flightaware, any ideas?

Thanks,
Mark…

ssh into the pi and check the logs

sudo journalctl -u dump1090-fa -n50 --no-pager

Posting the output here might help us help you.

Ahh thankyou.
I get multiple instances of the following…

"Dec 24 14:18:12 piaware dump1090-fa[1449]: Mon Dec 24 14:18:12 2018 GMT No data received from the SDR for a long time, it may have wedged
"

Cheers
Mark…

Yeah so either the stick isn’t good anymore or your power supply is not supplying enough current anymore.

Trying another power supply is easiest.

Also another output of the logs after restarting dump1090-fa wouldn’t hurt:

sudo systemctl restart dump1090-fa
sudo journalctl -u dump1090-fa -n30 --no-pager

Complete output if you don’t mind including the restart of dump1090-fa

Thankyou, that appears to have got it working again!

Yeah it won’t help for long if restarting the complete pi didn’t help.

Try another power supply it might have suffered when the power outage happened.

(At least it’s not completely dead  )

Yep ok will keep that in mind.
Thanks for the help, much appreciated!

Cheers
Mark…

Could it be the lack of aircraft flying from lunchtime on Christmas eve until Boxing day? Very few tracked over UK during this period.

Unlikely that he is not receiving a single signal

The reduction in numbers he is seeing on 25 and 26 might be related to christmas though.

Looks like its my PSU.I came to find it had ‘wedged’ again today, but swapping in another Pi PSU seems to have got it working again,. Hopefully it’ll keep working this time!

Thanks
Mark…
